Costs Associated with Precision CNC Machining

Part One

We are sometimes asked about how precision CNC machining services are priced. There are many factors that influence the cost of laser engraving, laser cutting, milling turning, close tolerance machining, small part machining, etc. Let’s take a closer look:

Prototypes to production manufacturing jobs involve engaging a professional CAD design team.  Contract manufacturing projects with an established design often require little or no additional design time or associated costs. The complexity of the final design can also have an impact on your bottom line.

Materials play a significant role in the overall cost of a precision CNC machining project.  When selecting materials, we work with you to help evaluate factors such as the cost of the raw material itself as well as shipping and labor expenses.  Import taxes may play a role for materials that must be sourced overseas. Materials also affect the type of precision CNC machining process that must be used to produce the desired end result. We will discuss this more in our next article.
